Personal Review on “The Entertainer” album
«« Preview on iTunes Japan »>
1. Can You See Our Flag Wavin’ in the Sky
This song should give special impression to anyone who came to “Door to the Unknown” concerts. This song itself is very unique to my ears. I’ve never heard such kind of songs before. This song is not my type. But somehow.. it keeps playing in my head..
Score: 4/5 for the uniqueness
2. I’m on Fire
The first time I listened to the song on October 18, 2013, I was a bit disappointed, this is not the type of song that I like. I heard it is more influenced by songs from another country near Japan that is very popular at the moment. But I kept listening to the song.. then I found out that it grew in me.. I had a feeling that this song could be a chance for Daichi to show his dance moves and performance in different way.. I was so happy when I saw the teaser of the MV here
Score: 5/5 because I like it even this song is not my type www
It is very easy to fall in love with Elevator. I remember that the first time I listened to this song is here and I completely able to listen to it after I watch the DVD of “DM in Budokan”.. The DVD has been released more than a year ago.. and we’re able to have it in the album just now..? aaww….
Score: 5/5 because it’s easy to fall in love with the song
Spellbound.. aww.. this is another song that shows the sexy voice of Daichi. I really expect his sexy performance in the tour or somewhere in his live performance. I sense so much JT (Justin Timberlake) in this song.. but hey.. Daichi and Justin are really different in some aspects.. so let’s praise both of them for their talents…
Score: 5/5 It has good tones from the beginning to the end, I love the song, period
5. Baby Just Time
I’m so happy that Baby Just Time sounds much better than what he performed for the new year stage. The intro reminds of an application to generate password when I’m going to install a pirated software (LOL). However.. I like the song already from the first time I listened to it.. even he didn’t perform it well… so.. I’m satisfied!!
Score: 5/5 .. I don’t have to explain why I like the song all the time.. wwww
Additional Note: On October 24, 2012, this man tweeted: "In tha studio w/ Japanese artist Daichi Miura & tha homie JD Walker #Workin". It seems, now we are listening to the song he was talking about. This could be JD Walker that he meant.. the producer of Charice
I listened to the preview.. but it didn’t include the intro.. so the first time I listened to the intro of this song from the album.. I was so surprised.. I’m really captivated by the intro.. then when the next part of the song starts.. ew.. I can’t help imaging a wild scene of being squeezed and kissed on my hand.. shoulder.. neck.. ew.. I better stop there.. www… I wonder if he sings this song with his real voice.. not with the one that makes him sounds like chipmunk as we can hear in this song. His voice is really sexy.. why not singing with his real voice.. not to make the fan girls having sexy imagination too far? awwww….
Score: 6/5 … I don’t care the scale.. I really like this song and I expect him singing this song with his real sexy voice.. I could having orgasm for real
Additional notes: I have just found out that this song stands out because it’s written by Chad Hugo from the Neptunes who worked for Justin Timberlake, Gwen Stefani, Britney Spears and some other popular singers. (the other member of the Neptunes is Pharrel Williams who worked with Robin Thicke - Blurred Lines)
7. Go For It
Gor For it.. I wonder what he was thinking of when he made the MV like this (and part 2) .. the song is not a special song for me. But I can enjoy it. However I think ‘Twinkle Shiny Star’ deserves to be included in this album more than Go For It..
Score: 4/5 .. it’s just an OK song for me..
8. Gotta be You
I like every sounds in this song.. his voice and the instruments.. I guess the lyric has a deep meaning as he used to give in every slow songs/ballads he worked on. Somehow this song reminds me of some old songs that around 1998 - 2005. I feel nostalgic with this kind of song..
9. Two Hearts
I’m not fan of “Two Hearts" I feel like he could sing it with louder and released voice.. I heard he sang the song with that powerful voice in his live on TV. I wish the studio version of Two Hearts came with that voice.
10. Blow You Away
The intro is shocking.. I mean.. really makes me surprised.. www .. I like the “Eh Eh.. ah ah ah.. eh eh..” whispering background voice .. is it his voice.. aw.. it makes me high as always. www… The interesting part of this song is the drums.. This song could be the opening song of his next live as it has lyric “Hey!.. let’s get started.. hey! it’s a party”.. or maybe not, because I mentioned here and he seems doesn’t like to be predictable.. wwww.. This song reminds me of a song of Beyonce .. so the live performance could have the same high spirit.. I cross my fingers… www
11. Right Now
Right Now is so special for me because my nickname is Imada and I wrote it as 今だ that has same sense with “Right Now”. I am so happy when they released the preview on YT (part 1 and part 2) it was the my first time listening to the song, and I even happier when he includes the song in this album. Delete My Memories is one of my favorite songs of Daichi .. and Right Now is his next song that have same tunes with DMM. I’m happy !!
I hope it’s his footsteps for real.. I guess it’s too slow for a Japanese.. my Sensei walks much faster than that.
Score … what??? you want me to give score for the sounds of his footsteps??? wwww
13. Listen to My Heartbeat
I really like how he sings to this song with his clear, powerful and soft voice. I feel like he is singing his heartbeats from the deepest part of this heart. I can’t describe my feeling towards this song any further. You should listen to this song yourself, then you will understand how I feel… <3
Score: 5/5 .. it’s a very beautiful song that come with his clear and powerful voice
14. all converge on “the one”
For me who is not originated from Japan, this song has ‘zen’ sense or something that strongly related to Japan culture … I heard this kind of music style long back there when KITARO (another high level musician from Japan) was very popular in my country. Once again Daichi sings with his clear, strong and soft voice. He signed this song with his identity as a Japanese. Everyone should notice that another world class artist comes from Japan.. and he’ll rule the world in any short time. Trust me..
Score: 5/5 .. this song is very beautiful and strong with a lot of senses of Japan
The set list of this album starts with “Can you see our flag waving in the sky” and ends up with “All converge on the one” and the cover is Daichi in red with white background that obviously looks like Japan flag.. Don’t you think he is starting his first step to International Music Industry..?
After listening to the songs in this album for several times, I hardly find any weak song in this album. They all give a certain impression and deserve to be released as a single beside Go For It, Two Hearts and Right Now. This album is much better regarding the percentage of standing out songs in the album. We can’t expect any songs will come with same sense as songs in ‘Who’s the Man' and 'DM' (I don't mention D'Rock with You as I perceived it's totally different and left behind). He obviously doesn't want to offer his fans with any songs that similar with his previous songs. So you should try open your heart and your mind when you start to listen (or listen to it again).. because you'll be surprised with many songs that you never heard from him before. The songs definitely equal to some international level songs, even I think, “All Converge on the One” is beyond you can imagine.. it's world level songs that rich of Japanese sense of culture.. very unique. This album is 100% fresh and special to all music lovers from around the world.
